The mission of the Department of Communicative Disorders is consistent with the teaching, research, and service mission of the College of Arts and Sciences and The University of Alabama. The Department has dedicated itself to excellence in providing undergraduate and graduate students with educational, experiential and research opportunities in the study of human communication sciences and disorders. While enhancing the educational mission of the Department, the Speech and Hearing Center is further dedicated to reducing the impact of communicative disorders affecting diverse populations across the life span.
