The Gospel of Mark

This writing-designated [W], advanced seminar focuses upon the oldest of the gospels in the Christian canon, the Gospel According to Mark. After a preliminary investigation of the text in the New Revised Standard Version translation, we will explore Mark's many nuances under the guidance of contemporary Biblical scholars, literary critics, and cultural theorists. Prerequisites are two courses in Religious Studies or permission of the instructor.
